Wednesdays on the Stoop: Solis

Wednesdays On the Stoop, a series of free programming by Zoom every Wednesday from 4 pm - 5 pm. The sessions are designed to be a constant structure--every Wednesday at 4 you can count on Blue Stoop to plug you into your writing energy with an informal and supportive space.

It is inevitable that we will all face challenges and uncertainties in life. Often these moments cause confusion, distress, and fear - and also take part in building creative and energetic blockages. What would it look like to show yourself compassion and patience in those moments? How might your hesitation shift if you gave your inner voice some space to feel heard? In this workshop, participants will use guided meditation and other compassionate exercises to help writers cultivate uninhibited, honest work, and to alleviate barriers to creativity - all by simply listening to what our bodies have to say. No experience necessary!

Nina Solis is a hematology-oncology RN and emerging writer, currently working at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2018 as a first-generation college student, with a major in Nursing and minor in Creative Writing. She was the recipient of the Independence Blue Cross "Nurses For Tomorrow" scholarship, and former Susan D. Flynn Oncology Nursing Fellow. Currently she enjoys playing guitar, running, and genuine human connection (at least 6-feet apart).
