Te-Ping Chen & Shruti Swamy w/Alexandra Chang
Join us for an evening of celebrating two exciting new short story collections, Land of Big Numbers by Philadelphia-based writer Te-Ping Chen, and A House is a Body by Shruti Swamy. Alexandra Chang, novelist and Blue Stoop fiction teacher, will facilitate.
TE-PING CHEN's fiction has been published in, or is forthcoming from, The New Yorker, Granta, Guernica, Tin House, and The Atlantic. A reporter with the Wall Street Journal, she was previously a correspondent for the paper in Beijing and Hong Kong. Prior to joining the Journal in 2012, she spent a year in China as a Fulbright fellow. She lives in Philadelphia.
The winner of two O. Henry Awards, Shruti Swamy's work has appeared in The Paris Review, the Kenyon Review Online, Prairie Schooner, and elsewhere. Her story collection A House Is a Body was longlisted for the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize, and her novel The Archer is forthcoming this fall.
Alexandra Chang is the author of the novel Days of Distraction. She lives in Philadelphia with her husband and their dog and cat.
