Wednesdays On the Stoop, a series of free programming by Zoom every Wednesday from 4 pm - 5 pm. The sessions are designed to be a constant structure--every Wednesday at 4 you can count on Blue Stoop to plug you into your writing energy with an informal and supportive space.
In this WOTS session, we focus on writing things just as they are--in a single moment in time. You are invited to take an hour to appreciate a moment, in your life, in your day, in your week, or in your year. In the overwhelm of everyday living, it’s easy to forget that each moment is truly unique, completely unprecedented, and doesn’t need anything from us for it to be sublimely meaningful. Different poets across time, place, and tradition have brought attention to this, often with an awareness of the wonderful humor, preciousness, and ephemerality that is woven into our lives.
Although the moment is short, the subjects are vast. Emotions are welcome. Feelings are welcome. Characters are welcome. Objects too! Yes, thoughts, nature, the weather, bowls of cereal, the way the light hits something just like that—it is all welcome, so long as it is real to you, the poet, and captures a single moment in time for you as well.
