Wednesdays on the Stoop--[Untitled] On Purpose w/ Alison Lubar

In this generative workshop, we’ll consider how to use titles as a way to frame and reinvent your writing. After an exploration of expertly-titled pieces and examining the relationship between title-and-work, we’ll turn that attention to our own writing. Bring a work-in-progress or a piece that needs a new title. We’ll also use our craft conversation to create new works, title-first.

Alison Lubar teaches high school English by day and yoga by night. They are a queer, nonbinary femme of color whose life work (aside from wordsmithing) has evolved into bringing mindfulness practices, and sometimes even poetry, to young people. Their debut chapbook, Philosophers Know Nothing About Love, is out now with Thirty West (May 2022); you can find out more at http://alisonlubar.com/ or on Twitter @theoriginalison.
