Wednesdays on the Stoop--Writing at the Intersection w/ Alison Lubar

In this generative workshop, we’ll explore what it means to write at an intersection– whether that’s a meeting of multiple (or multiply marginalized) identities, or a crossroads. We’ll move beyond bildungsroman and consider identity & ontology as ways to build worlds in writing. Although this will be word-focused, it is still relevant to all mediums including cross-genre work– it is, after all, about intersections!

Alison Lubar teaches high school English by day and yoga by night. They are a queer, nonbinary femme of color whose life work (aside from wordsmithing) has evolved into bringing mindfulness practices, and sometimes even poetry, to young people. Their debut chapbook, Philosophers Know Nothing About Love, is out now with Thirty West (May 2022); you can find out more at http://alisonlubar.com/ or on Twitter @theoriginalison.
