Sun rays and ways to stay inspired!

Sun rays and ways to stay inspired!

Friends, students, colleagues,

Summer has officially begun. The heat is unwavering and Summer School is in full swing. July is sure to pack a punch with bright rays and exciting ways to get your pen just as warmed up as your skin.

Next on our roster is “Poem Plus Prompt,” the first of a three-part virtual workshop with our dear friend, author and poet Dilruba Ahmed. This first session will take place on Tuesday, July 2nd from 7:00-8:00 pm ET on Zoom.

For $25 a pop or $75 for all 3, we're sure you'll leave with new poetic possibilities. All registrants for this first session will also be entered into a raffle to win a one-on-one consulting session with Dilruba in July. Click the image below to register!

Visiting Lou. A masterclass with Zach Ozma. June 18th, 6:00-7:30pm ET on Zoom. $50. Learn more at bluestoop.org/summer-school

We're also excited to share that almost all of our summer classes and workshops will be recorded and available to purchase through the end of summer. “Visiting Lou" with Zach Ozma or “Office Hours” with Asali Solomon are available now, and more sessions will be added in the coming weeks!

The summer also marks the beginning of our next chapter — a new fiscal year and a chance to reflect on the past. As Julian and I look back at the immense support we have received in this transition, we can't begin to share how grateful we are for the friends, new and old, that have joined us on the Stoop.

Every kind word, volunteer sign up, Thursday drop-in, shared resource, and donation has truly humbled us, allowing us to envision this growing community’s bright future.

We've almost reached 30% of our goal to raise $20,000, which will allow us to continue expanding and improving. With your help, we think we can get to 50% before the end of the month.

If you have the means and want to support this difficult but important work, we welcome your support. Every cent raised will strengthen Blue Stoop and the community we serve! Whether it’s a $2 raffle ticket, a $25-$75 registration for a Summer School session, or whatever you have to spare, we truly appreciate your contribution.

Stay cool,

Taylor Townes
Co-Director

ON THE STOOP
We're so excited for our new fellowship program for woman-identified emerging writers. Established with the generous support of acclaimed author Jennifer Weiner, this fellowship aims to elevate voices that often go unheard in the literary world. Six fellows will receive $5000 to support their creative endeavors, as well as professional mentoring, a supportive cohort, and promotional opportunities. We'll share details on eligibility and deadlines later this summer, so if you haven't already, subscribe to this special mailing list to be the first to find out.
