Breaking into Publishing w/ Penguin Random House & Blue Stoop

Join publishing professionals from Penguin Random House for a discussion of our second annual resource sharing and mentorship program for Philadelphians interested in working in the publishing industry.

Last year, Blue Stoop pioneered a series of informal chats and then a one-on-one mentorship program between book publishing professionals at Penguin Random House and Philly community members interested in careers in publishing. The project was such a success, that we're bringing it back for a second year.

Many Philly folks have shared that they are interested in working in literary publishing but feel like they can't--because of lack of experience, lack of connections, not wanting to relocate to New York, or a lack of knowledge about what jobs are available. But publishing is opening up more than ever before, with many sectors of the industry now accepting remote employees and deliberately seeking a diverse job pool.

On March 14 at 7pm, join us for a digital discussion featuring publishing professionals from many departments across Penguin Random House. PRH panelists will discuss what it means to work in editorial, marketing and publicity, and art and production, and the details of our upcoming one on one mentorship program for Philly community members.

To get a jump on what these careers mean, we also encourage you to watch our specialized videos featuring PRH representatives from last year on Editorial, Publicity & Marketing, Art & Production.
